In the CME article “Congestive Heart Failure—Perioperative Risk Assessment and Therapeutic Consequences” by Vera von Dossow et al. in issue 5, the authors retrospectively report additional potential conflicts of interest:
- Vera von Dossow leads a training workshop on anesthesiologic management during LVAD implantations. This workshop receives financial support from Abbott. The remuneration goes exclusively to the institute for anesthesiology, not individual staff members.
- Johannes T Neumann receives support from the German Research Foundation (DfG) in the context of the Heisenberg Program. For lectures and consultancy, he received honoraria from Abbott, Roche Diagnostics, Siemens Healthineers, and SpinChip. He is co-inventor of an international patent for using computer equipment to assess the probability of a myocardial infarction (international publication reference WO2022043229A1) as well as co-founder and shareholder of ART-EMIS Hamburg Ltd.
- The remaining authors (GLB, TH, MM) declare that no conflicts of interest exist.
